Postcards from Gatlinburg and The Great Smoky Mountains

Many moons ago, in what seems like a different life from this, I took a trip to The Appalachian Mountains - my first trip to any American Mountain rage.

I visited and stayed in a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and while it was incredible to tick a few more states (Tennessee and North Carolina both) and a pretty significant mountain range off my list, I will admit that these sky-scraping beauties still left something to be desired for me. Maybe I was just imagining the mountains out west that I’ve seen in pictures or maybe I was just pining for Scotland (most likely the case, if I’m honest), but I just wasn’t as impressed by the scenery as I was expecting to be. Regardless, I thought I’d share some of my best snaps of the area with you because hey, just because I wasn’t blown away doesn’t mean they weren’t worth a visit in the end. Take everything I say with a grain of salt and go see for yourself. The South is always a fun time and the Smokys do take some damn good pictures.

Anyone want to go back for another visit with me? I could be swayed to change my mind… 😉
