Our Best Friend Date Night at the 3 Arts Club Cafe in Chicago

Recently, I made the journey back up north to visit my dentist, my parents, and my best friend, though not necessarily in that order.

After my time in Michigan was over, I took the train down to Chicago to meet Nicole and spend a few days just catching up.

We did some wandering about after we finished working for the week and had a wonderful time shopping and enjoying the city together. I’m so glad she moved there - she absolutely made the right choice!

The evening of the second night, however, we had made reservations for a little friend date at one of the most gorgeous restaurants I’ve ever seen. Her and I love any excuse to get all dressed up and go out on the town. As soon as we arrived at the 3 Arts Club Cafe in the Gold Coast neighborhood, we were both taken aback by the stunning views that greeted us.

The doorman told us to look around and “gather as much inspiration as we wanted” before the meal, so we promptly took that to mean we should take a bunch of cute selfies together before being seated for dinner, and so we did just that.

Our table was right next to the fountain in the center of the room and the dining room was even more incredible than the rest of the building.

At this point, we were so excited about our food and starving from having waited most of the day to eat to preserve our appetites. We made quick work of ordering drinks and some truffle fries for the table and OMG were they good.

While we snacked on some of the yummiest fries I’ve ever tasted, we took advantage of the gorgeous room by taking a few more cute pictures of one another. What can we say, we felt cute, but unlike in the cliche, we won’t be deleting them later…

We ended up un-coincidentally ordering the exact same thing for dinner: the lobster rolls. My very first ones ever, I might add! I can see what the New Englanders are always raving about! I mean, what’s not to love about buttery bread topped with succulent lobster? I was LIVING for this dish.

I could have kept eating this sandwich forever; the shellfish was cooked to absolute perfection. I will definitely have to come back to try the rest of the menu, for sure.

Our evening out together was utterly perfect and both of us walked away full and happy. To all my friends out there looking for the most wonderfully instagrammable restaurant that also has incredible food to match, I can’t recommend the 3 Arts Club Cafe in Gold Coast more. I just know you will love it as much as we did!

That’s all for now folks. I hope you’re all enjoying the rest of summer and finding these little gems on your travels or in your local area, too! Feel free to send any recommendations my way - I’d love to try them out.
