Blogmas Day 5 - Haircut

Blogmas Day 5 - welcome! This is becoming a late-night ritual of mine that I highly enjoy. Sitting and decompressing with you all. Thank you, again, for reading and coming along on my Christmas journey with me. December is usually a pretty tough month for me. Definitely, by no means, my happiest month of the year, even with my birthday in it. But, thanks in large part to these little diary entries, I’m enjoying it a lot more than I ever have.

Hi friends, how the hell are ya? It’s late, and I’m pretty tired. It’s been a roller coaster of a week. I just got off the phone with my best friend in the universe and she always has a way of making me feel more grounded. I love that girl. XOXO If you’re ever feeling burnt out or low, call your best friend. A good chat can reset all those bad vibes and completely turn your mood around - trust me. Do it. And I’m not just saying this because I know she reads my blog posts… 😘🥰

Love

So first off tonight, I want to take a moment to send a shout out to Spotify (if you’re interested, you can find me and follow me on Spotify here). They are the real MVP of the day for their “See How You Listened in 2019” recap. If you haven’t seen it, you absolutely must update your app and go give yours a listen RIGHT NOW. Everyone’s a little narcissistic and we all love seeing things that are personalized for us and this was a highlight of my month so far, for sure. As expected, Post Malone took home nearly every listening prize for me, and all I really learned was that I’m even more #basic when it comes to music than I am in real life, but it was a pleasure to go back and see how my 2019 shaped up in music and how much my tastes changed from year to year and even season to season. So, thank you Spotify, we spend a lot of time together and I am grateful for all you do.

Tomorrow, Ethan and I are headed up north for a getaway as a belated birthday present to him. I’m taking a half day and I’m really looking forward to just checking into the hotel and checking out. I’ll still be blogmassing, though. Don’t worry. 🙃

Today, however, a few pretty small, yet magical things happened. Starting with the biggest - I cut my hair! Yup, much to the surprise of everyone around me - because I didn’t tell them - I cut off all of my hair. It was mid-back and how it collarbone length. Truly, I don’t miss it. I had absolutely no apprehensions about cutting off that old, dead hair. It wasn’t serving me anymore - it wasn’t even really that pretty. And I’m beginning to see the importance of getting rid of things that just don’t belong in my life - starting with my long, scraggly hair. I doubt this will be the last change I make before too long to rid my life of the bad and unhealthy - I’ve got some work to do, but I’m ready to get things back on track. And just like blogmas, when I set my mind to something, you’ll be damned if you can stop me.

Serve You

But on a real note, I’m ready to start fresh in 2020 with a head full of healthy hair. What do you think - does it suit me?

Secondarily, but still really exciting - Ethan’s advent calendar to me finally arrived. Eeek! He couldn’t have done much better - I might have dropped a hint or two, but he still gets all the credit. I pass this store in the mall all the time and I couldn’t be more excited to pamper myself with their lotions and potions. Self-care, everyone, it’s very, very important - don’t underestimate it.

Thanks, honey. You are too good to me. 😘Now, it really is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

L'OCCITANE

It was actually a really good day. I feel the universe shifting, slowly. Things might just be turning around - just in time. Maybe there really is something to that whole new-hair-new-me nonsense after all? Or maybe it’s just Mercury messing around again. Who knows? Either way, I’m not complaining - I know, a first for me, right!

Have a good night, my friends. I’m on a high and I’m going to end this blog that way, too.

Keep smiling. 😁See you all tomorrow.
