Boyfriend Picks My Outfits For a Week - Part 2
/Wow! The responses I’ve been getting over Part 1 of this series have been overwhelmingly positive, which is so great for me because I love entertaining y’all with my writing and it’s been so fun during the process!
As I mentioned before, this was a request from a reader, which makes it all the better. If you ever have a creative idea of something you’d love to see me write about - please leave it in the comments on any post, or send me a note here.
So, let’s get on with days 3, 4, and 5, shall we?
Tuesday
When Ethan laid Day 3 out on the bed for me, I wasn't the least-bit surprised with his choices. Yet another pair of A&F jeans, and my black Chelsea boots, but the unsurprising part actually wasn't the repeated pieces, but rather his choice of sweater. He picked out my long, red and gold Chicos sweater, which we both absolutely love. The whole outfit had such flair and style - definitely had Ethan written all over it.
I typically get a lot of compliments on this sweater and this day was no exception. I wore the outfit to our monthly Trout Unlimited meeting and quite a few of the members had great things to say. So did my co-workers that morning! Nice work, Ethan - thanks for the confidence boost.
The outfit rounded-out with yet another Alex and Ani bangle and my Arvo watch. If you haven’t heard about them, you definitely should look into them - they’re a really neat brand with a cool mission. And I’m not just saying that because I’m one of their Ambassadors. 😉
Wednesday
Day 4, however, wasn't nearly as much of a success. I can't image what Ethan was going for with this one. Whatever it was, once I got dressed we both agreed that he (and I) didn’t pull it off. But, seeing as he promised to take part in it, I promised to hold up my end of the deal and wear the outfit, not matter what - so I did.
Not only were the pants blue, and the sweater and scarf both black, but he also put me in dress pants to go to my semi-causal workplace (awkward) - dress pants that were 3 inches too long and about the same too big in the waist. Not that he really knew that beforehand, to be fair.
He dressed me in my Dior men's sweater, which was meant (at least in Ethan's mind) to be fitting and chic, but it just wasn't.
He gave me one of my many Scottish scarves to wear, which would have been nice with just the sweater and shoes alone, but those pants really didn't do much to bring it the whole look together. I did like that he chose my Movado watch, though. He got me that for a gift a while back and it did add a small element of needed class, I’d say.
On this day, the folks at work actually looked at me and said, "is Ethan still picking out your clothes?" And we all know what the means… 😂
But, it was fun to walk around looking like a total goober all day, even if I was just a little self-conscious. Good thing I had his judgement to use as an excuse rather than my own.
Thursday
Day 5 was by-far my favorite look of the week so far. Every single item was highly coordinated and well thought-through.
He even took the time to match my Harry Potter Alex and Ani bracelets with my official Harry Potter Ravenclaw House scarf - that I did special order from the little Scottish weaving company that made the ones for the film, I might add.
Both of which went incredibly well with my corduroy pants - also from an A&F store, Hollister this time - and my Eddie Bauer cable knit. I was proper Scottish AF.
Finally, he took the time to match my new Fossil Q Hybrid watch with my very first Fossil bag that I splurged on back in my freshman year at University.
All in all, this was a really, really good look and I felt amazing rocking it at work all day, and then out to dinner that evening with Ethan.
I am so glad we are doing this challenge together, honestly - 4 out of 5, so far, isn’t bad.
See you on Saturday for Part 3. Thanks for reading!
