Blogmas Day 20 - Goals
/Good evening, Blogmas readers, I just woke up from a nap. OMG did I need that. Ethan and I both did. In fact, he’s still sleeping now. 💤
It’s important to take time to rest and recharge when you need it - especially during busy seasons like the holidays.
Taking naps is something I’ve always loved, but I haven’t gotten to do much of recently. I’m learning as the year comes to a close that I need to make changes in my life in order to continue on - changes like letting myself take more naps. I’m always tired and I don’t give myself enough time to just rest.
Other things I’d love to do more of are read and learn. I said this last year, but I'd love to get back into learning my German and reading the many books I’ve collected this year. Both help me unwind and keep my mind active. Sometimes I feel like my brain is going to mush as I get older - forgetting things, having a harder time concentrating, etc.
I want to go into 2020 more healthily. I accomplished my goal of drinking more water, but I do still need to get more exercise. I miss how good exercise made me feel. I’m not sure what that looks like for me yet, but somehow, someway, I’m going to get up and get into action in 2020. I’m 26 now, which means it really is time for me to start caring about how I take care of my body.
What are some of your goals for the new year? Life is about growing and changing and I’m learning that slowly, but surely.
But, I’m not going to change myself or the world tonight. Tonight, my main goal is to get some food. I had amazing buffalo chicken wings from my favorite Birmingham restaurant Dick O’ Dow’s, but that was 8 hours ago and I’m starved.
This weekend is going to be a stressful one and I should probably spend the evening relaxing to prepare. Maybe I’ll have a spot of tea later?
That’s a habit I’ll for sure be taking with me into the new year. It's highly relaxing for me and reminds me of my time with the tea-loving Brits. 🇬🇧What’s one of your favorite habits that you want to bring with you into the new decade? Let me know in the comments below.
And with that, I’ll see you all tomorrow, my good friends. Have a relaxing evening yourself.
XOXO Write on!
