Blogmas Day 15 - Festive

Hello, we meet again, my friends! Welcome to Blogmas Day 15!

Today is a very special edition of Blogmas because I actually have some Christmas content to post!

Jumping right in - I promised Ethan some time ago that we would visit Meadow Brook Hall during the festive season to see the decorations. So, somewhat reluctantly, I put it on the calendar as a to-do for this weekend. Honestly, I had my reservations at first, but in the end, I’m really glad that we went. The decorations weren’t as spectacular and grand as I was expecting, tbh, but the house itself is worth a visit in and of itself.

Mansions, while full of dust mites and ghosts, are also so full of magic, too. It’s just amazing to see how the other half lives. #goalsAF

We wandered for over an hour and after we left, we had some dinner at one of our favorite places on the lake and then came home to do one of my favorite holiday activities - making gingerbread houses! I haven’t done it since I was really young, but it sounded fun, so I suggested Ethan and I do it as a couple this year. Christmas is all about making new traditions, right? We picked up an adorable little set at the store that let Ethan and I both create two mini houses each. So, with Christmas music rocking the background, we set out our supplies and got started.

That was actually a ton of fun! I love any excuse to be creative and I love even more any excuse to eat frosting, which obviously I took this to be. Our houses all came out so adorable. Ethan says his is supposed to be the two of us… I melted a little bit at that one, even if we do look like little Christmas tree demons.

As much as I don’t love the holidays, some of the festive things that take place can be fun. I’m trying to get more into the holiday spirit as the days pass. I’ve wrapped some gifts and got my festive holiday attire all planned out. Step by step I’m learning to embrace this season for what it is. What kinds of things always get you in the spirit? I could use all the suggestions I can get.

Have a lovely Sunday night, friends. Let’s do our best this week to avoid the #Sundayscaries together! I’m going to go and have a cup of my mom’s soup and watch some of my favs on Netflix, but I’ll check in tomorrow with yet another thrilling Blogmas update.

Have a wonderful start to your week, all.

Write on!
