Where I'm At
Holy shiz, how is it nearly March?
I’ve seen a lot of bloggers that I follow - and for the record, I follow a quite a few - do cheeky little blog posts just updating their readers about their life and what’s to come. I’ve done a few heavier, reflective life updates in the past, but never have I just sat down and written as if I were speaking to a friend about what’s up. So, here I am. 💁🏼♀️
It’s almost March, which is unbelievable to me for a dozen reasons (well, maybe two or three). First, where did the beginning of the year go? And what happened to Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve? They were either so long ago that I don’t remember them, or I missed them entirely. Crazy. Second, I’m still having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that I’ve nearly completed my sugar detox. Yeah, remember that little thing I wrote whining about a few weeks ago? Yep, it has nearly come and gone and I can honestly say that I only cheated once this entire month. I’m proud of myself, though, because the one time I did cheat, I didn’t give up and cave. I actually only ended up eating my delicious piece of White Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake because Ethan and I went on a legitimate date for the first time in a really long time and it just didn’t feel right passing up the opportunity.
But seriously, how good do all those little treats from the Astoria Pastry Shop in Royal Oak look?
In addition to very successfully and nearly completing my detox, and the few pounds I believe I might have lost from the lack of excessive sugar in my diet, the good news continues. I’ve taken on a few new and more challenging roles in my job, which is always exciting. I love being busy and feeling fulfilled, it only makes me love what I do even more than I did. I’m excited for my new mentoring and international opportunities. I think these coming months are going to be pretty epic.
I’m also in a much better headspace than I was just a few months ago. I’ve taken a lot of time to reflect and soak up knowledge from folks who know more about life than me and I’m feeling better than ever. My next goal is to get a real morning routine down because I’ve seen it claimed time and time again that having a successful morning routine will change your life. Hmm, I smell a blog post idea in there somewhere.
And speaking of this space, I’m excited to announce my plans for Espresso Myself for March of 2019. Many of you might have figured out (or been told once or twice by me) that Ethan and I are going on a big adventure in the coming month. I’m finally taking my partner in life back to the place that I love most and I couldn’t be more excited. So, in honor of our excursion, March is going to be an entire month of travel-related content. I’ve had a to-write list a mile long of travel content that I’ve not had a chance to write for literally years now. Get excited, folks, because some of the things that are coming are an inside look in my carry-on bag and my Scottish capsule wardrobe. And of course, when we return, I’ll be recapping every moment of our fun time away, don’t worry! I’m feeling really inspired and ready to type! I’m delighted to take you all along with me like I used to when this blog first began. Curious to see where and how it all started? Here’s a list of some of my OG blog posts for your enjoyment.
I really have come full circle in life, and as of the end of March, with this blog.
I’m super excited - yeah, I cringed a little at “super excited,” too 🙈 - for things to come. I said goodbye to 2018 with all the hope in the world that 2019 might be MY year. Well, an educated guess would say I could be right. 🙌🏻
Thanks for reading, friends. As always, if there is anything you’d like to see me post, please let me know in the comments below.
