Blogmas Day 4 - Commuting
It’s already December 4th - my brain can’t process that fully. In addition to it being Blogmas Day 4, it’s also my Momma’s birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM). It was also dentist appointment day. Yay. 😒 So, both of those things meant that a 2.5-hour drive was in order. My dentist and my Mom are both on the other side of the state from me, so Ethan and I often find ourselves driving to and from at all hours of the day. It can be exhausting and daunting, but I don’t plan to replace either of them anytime soon, so I better get used to it, I guess.
I don’t know about every family, but I notice that many of them that I’m familiar with tend to have one designated driver and one designated passenger. For Ethan and I, Ethan drives 9 times out of 10, meaning we also normally take his cars everywhere we go. I much prefer it that way. Some folks, prefer driving because it puts you in control of the car and (more importantly) the radio. That’s the biggest reason that I prefer being the driver - control. But being the driver also is tiring and opens you up to scrutiny about your driving, which I just can’t tolerate. Backseat drivers are the absolute worst - who’s with me? So, give me the passenger seat and a window to look out of and I’m golden for as long as I need to be co-pilot.
In general, I got good feedback at the dentist. Why do we care so much about getting the approval of our doctors and dentists? I know I’m not the only person who feels this way. I always get nervous of getting a bad report or having them be cross with me because I’m not exercising enough, drinking enough water, or flossing regularly.
Assuming that everything goes as we all hope it does (fingers crossed), I’m only two sets of trays away from finishing my braces and it only took me two long years to get here. Wooo! I’ve decided to treat myself with a teeth whitening treatment and/or getting one of those cheeky little tooth rhinestones once this whole process is finished. Ethan and my Mom couldn’t disapprove of the jewel on my tooth more, but I love the idea and think I might end up doing it anyway. I could always get it taken off, you know? What do you think - tooth jewels: pro or con?
It was also lovely seeing my mom on her birthday. Ethan took us both out for dinner. What a gentleman? 🥰And we chit-chatted over salads and enjoyed a nice evening together before driving another 2.5 hours home. It snowed on the way. It *ALMOST* had me singing “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas,” almost being the operative word. But as we all know, to have Christmas spirit would go against my very nature… so, not this time, Santa!
I called this post “Commuting” because nothing of any other significance really happened to me today, other than the mediocre salad I ate for dinner. LOL Side-note, it made me a little sad to break up the “T” thing I had going there for a few days, but I didn’t think I’d be able to come up with one word for each day all beginning with a “T,” so I thought I’d just get the hat trick and move on. 😆Tomorrow’s post might be a little more interesting, though… stay tuned - I might be a whole new woman by the end. 😏
Anyway, keep your parents close and your dentists closer, my friends. And remember to floss tonight before bed! 🤓😁
I’ll catch you all tomorrow, friends. Thanks as always for reading along with me.
Write on!
